This application is a practice for facebook API. My finial year project is development application base facebook API.

finish coding, upload whole php directory to web space that must support PHP5 and make sure public can access it. example http://liduan.com/fb/start

Next, adding apps to facebook, open http://developers.facebook.com, click ‘Get Start’ -> “Add Facebook Developer Application” -> “Setup New Application” you will see a form of add new application. there are some very important options you must fill it.

1. Application Name: I remember this name can’t include ‘face’ and ‘application’.
2. developer Contact email and user support email is your and your partner email.
3. Callback URL: you can find it in config.php. that’s you apps hosting address.
4. Canvas Page URL: format is http://apps.facebook.com/[YOUR CANVAS PAGE URL]/ can not same with other apps, and not allow number.
5. Application Type is Website.
6. Can your application be added on facebook? if you choice ‘no’, that means nobody can find your apps in facebook apps list.
7. Post-Add URL is same with Canvas Page URL : http://apps.facebook.com/[YOUR CANVAS PAGE URL]/
8. Default FBML: you can fill ‘hello world’
9. Side Nav URL is also same with Canvas Page URL : http://apps.facebook.com/[YOUR CANVAS PAGE URL]/

submit form, you will find your api key and secret key. put them to you config.php and upload again. Now. open your call back url, and follow by facebook guide and add this app to your facebook account. you will see “hello world”.

Therefore, I have built a micro blog based wordpress. It is most popular blog publishing system. it’s open source project. that mean’s wp can be developed to any content management system. My current micro blog(doing.liduan.com) is using wordpress and Prologue. I will use it to keep detail of my final year project.

Last year, We have this course called “mobile robot”. Aim is program base a Lego Mindstorm NXT

In robot assignment, 2 or 3 student make a group and work together. they need design and program for robot. Right side’s picture is a robot designed by our group.

Main program work is process informations from each sensor, there are 4 sensors may be used in robot:

1. Touch Sensor
2. Light Sensor
3. Ultrasonic Sersor
4. Sound Sensor

My group robot use Touch Sensor, Light Sensor and Sound Sensor. When robot follow on the way. Light Sensor can support line information of road. robot can use these information make sure it is on the line or out line. Touch Sensor send back information when robot touch a object, and robot command claw collect object. Sound sensor only used for emergency stop. when Sound sensor get a high level voice. robot should stop at once, and waiting for next high level voice for continue working.

A first preview version of desktopBSD 1.7 is available in official website. this snapshot version only support i386 machine. it doesn’t support am64 machine. A blog post of Official introduction says DesktopBSD based on the FreeBSD 7.0R (version 1.6 is base on the FreeBSd 6.3RC). and new version actiated some useful addons. But this blog post also warning there will be certainly some problems!

A iso image file has been hosted in ftp server. you can click link of “DesktopBSD Weekly Snapshots”section in this page. I am currently downloading this image file. After that, I will try snapshot and geting screenshot.

Other Desktop distribution PC-BSD (currently in version 1.5, also based in Freebsd 6.3) has no any plan about new version that based in new Freebsd7.

The ports system also will be used in building database. make sure your ports system has been update. and versions of mysql and postgresql need be latest.

1. MySQL 5.1
First of all, changing to root user by command “su”.

1.1 Installation MySQL5.1
Then, changing to mysql ports directory to install mysql 5.1.

$ cd /usr/ports/databases/mysql51-server/
$ make install clean

You can use following option.

1.2 Start MySQL server
after a long time of waiting.you could start mysql server. add a line in the "/etc/rc.conf"

1.3 Configuration MySQL
set the password of root user.

2. PostgreSQL
Keeping you currently in the root account.

2.1 Installation PostgreSQL 8.3

make config install clean

The you can choose model that you need in the Configuration interface.

add several new lines after finish installation in the file of "/etc/rc.conf"

2.2 Configuration
make sure you have /var/db/pgsql/data directory in your location, if you do not have this directory. you need creat it by root account and change owner to user "pgsql" by command "chown". such as:

chown pgsql:pgsql /var/db/pgsql/data

A simple database should be created by user "pgsql".

$ initdb -D /var/db/pgsql/data

Last but not least, start server:

</code><code>$  /usr/local/etc/rc.d/postgresql start

Next, we will build PHP development environment with Apache2 in the DesktopBSD.
